• Upon completion of the course, you shall be able to:

    • Create blogs on Google and Baidu, add posts with text in English and Chinese, links and graphics, and change the settings of your blogs.
    • Use many useful services on Google and Baidu to search for relevant information, store on-the-fly, organize and then share the information with other people.
    • Use RSS feeds and related Web services effectively as a subscriber and a publisher.
    • Discuss meaningfully the “what”, “how” and “why” of using the Web services of Google (versus Baidu) to meet the information needs of your company or school.
  • Upon completion of this course, you shall be able to:
    • Discuss meaningfully the “what”, “how” and “why” of selecting and managing free open-source software to meet the information and learning needs of a commercial organization.
    • Use RSS as a subscriber and as a publisher.

    • Make use of Google advertising services as an advertiser and/or Web publisher.
